Robert Morris shut down a late rally by Northeast Conference rival Saint Francis to hold on for a 78-74 win. The Colonials' 11-point, second-half lead was cut to just two by the Red Flash (5-19, 4-7), but Saint Francis could not complete the comeback. Seven Colonials (18-8, 9-4) tallied six or more points led by Lucky Jones and Mike McFadden with 14 points each. (Today)
For most of this season, the top of scoring sheet has been fairly predictable for Robert Morris. Redshirt junior Velton Jones nearly always is there. Leading the Colonials with 16.8 points per game, he has been the team's top scorer in 15 of 25 games. Behind Jones is usually sharpshooter Coron Williams, who leads the team with 56 3-pointers and averages 11.0 points per game. (Yesterday)
Gorgui Dieng returned from a sprained right ankle to score 15 points and freshman Chane Behanan added 12 rebounds as No. 24 Louisville (19-5, 7-4) beat Connecticut (15-8, 5-6), 80-59, for its fifth win in a row. Louisville looked like the team ranked fourth in the nation at 12-0 and nothing like the one that dropped five out of seven three weeks ago. (02/07/2012)
