The Penguins' winning goal in their 5-4 victory over the Rangers Thursday night in New York has now been credited to Evgeni Malkin.
Malkin took the shot for the overtime winner on a four-on-three power play. Originally, Jordan Staal was credited with the goal because it was believed he deflected the shot past Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist. Staal told team officials afterward that he did not touch the puck, and an NHL review confirmed that.
