Bomb squad called to Westmoreland County
Saturday, July 04, 2009

The Allegheny County bomb squad has been summoned to Westmoreland County, where authorities said someone with explosives may be in a building where police were attempting to serve a warrant.

Authorities would not release much information tonight about the incident. But Allegheny County dispatchers said the bomb squad was called at about 8:30 p.m. to Exton Lake Road in Washington Township. Westmoreland County District Attorney John Peck said local police and possibly officers from another agency had gone there earlier but he said he did not know what prompted them to do so.

There were no reports of injuries.
