RE/MAX Select Realty has hired several new agents.

Sharon Canonaco has joined the Wexford office. She is a former Howard Hanna agent.

Monica Wallace has joined the Scott Fosnot Team at the Center, Beaver County, office.

Victoria Schettler has joined the Cranberry office and Amy Meyers is working in Fox Chapel.

Coldwell Banker Real Estate honored many agents for 2006 production at its annual awards ceremony.

Kay Barchetti, North Hills, was named Rookie of the Year. Jim and Eva Gallagher, North Huntingdon, were honored as the top associates for home warranty support and best overall support of Coldwell's home loan, warranty and settlement services.

Kevin Mihm, North Hills, was No. 1 in gross commission income. Georgie Smigel, Cranberry was the top relocation sales associate for closed outmarket referrals and for support of Coldwell home loans. Marian McGinley, Squirrel Hill, led for support of Coldwell settlement services.

Terri Basci was the top commercial sales associate by volume and Jackie Marinelli by gross commission income. Valerie Scenna, Route 19/Galleria, was first in property management leasing production.

Two new awards were presented this year for special achievements. Rob Strohm, Fox Chapel, received the Above & Beyond award for implementing new ideas for community outreach programs. Susie Silversmith, Squirrel Hill, received the Lifetime Achievement award. She retired in 2006 after 20 years as a sales associate and manager. She will remain an agent in the Squirrel Hill office.

Charlotte George has joined Prudential Preferred Realty's Fox Chapel office. She received a bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh and previously worked in corporate medical management and as an agent for Coldwell Banker.

Pamela Simpson has joined Avalar Real Estate and Mortgage Network's Mon Valley office.

Debbie Collins, an agent with RE/MAX Heritage, was named the top sales associate for sales and listings closed in February. She also won the Quality Service Award.

Annie Hanna Cestra, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, was recently elected to the board the Urban League of Pittsburgh.

She is a trustee of Winchester Thurston School and a commissioner of the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission. She has also been a director of the Realtors Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh's executive committee and a delegate to the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors.

She has been honored by National Relocation and Real Estate magazine, as a "Woman of Spirit" at Carlow College and at the second annual Working Woman 500 Congress in Washington, D.C.

Don Seaton of RE/MAX Select Realty has been named to the RE/MAX Platinum Club. The award is given to the highest producing agents nationwide. Mr. Seaton, RE/MAX Select's top residential agent, has 30 years' experience in Pittsburgh and has been named No. 1 residential salesperson by the Realtors Association of Metropolitian Pittsburgh.

Howard Hanna recently contributed nearly $644,000 to the Children's Free Care Fund, the proceeds from its 2006 fund raising.

The check presentation was made to Roger Oxendale, Children's Hospital president, at the company's annual awards celebration.

Since it began raising money for children's hospitals in Pennsylvania and Ohio 18 years ago, Howard Hanna has raised $4.5 million.

During the holidays, offices and agents hold "chow chow" buffet luncheons that include auctions, car raffles, prize drawings, gift baskets and entertainment.

RE/MAX Select Realty and its sales associates recently donated $35,000 to Children's Miracle Network.

The company donates a portion of every commission to the charity, making the company the only Miracle Multi Office Company in Western Pennsylvania. The company also hosts an annual golf outing and other events. Proceeds benefit Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.

DEVELOPMENTS

The new Westminster model is now open for tours at Morning Grove Community in Adams.

Single-family homes start in the $260,000s in the Heartland Homes development.

The model from the Alan Carter Collection will be open from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, next Sunday, March 31 and April 1. It was professionally decorated by Toni McGonigle of Toni McGonigle Interiors in Mt. Lebanon.

Homes are now available in Fayette Farms, a planned community in North Fayette.

Prices begin at $450,000 and four model homes are open each weekend from noon to 5 p.m. and at various weekday times. Amenities include a clubhouse and pool.

The builders are Bachman Builders, Custom Homes, Londonbury Homes and Paragon Homes. Keller Williams Realty Pittsburgh West Market Center and its Rose Group are the exclusing marketing agents.
